News Team Member, Moorlands Radio, Staffs

Moorlands Radio is the community radio station serving the Staffordshire Moorlands, a beautiful semi-rural region in the North Midlands (and a little bit beyond!).

We’re making some really exciting changes to our local news output – but we need news rockstars like you to help make it happen

We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable members to join our team to make Moorlands Radio the first choice for local news in the Staffordshire Moorlands. You’ll be working out of our soon-to-be newly refurbished Leek studios.

No two days are quite the same here at Moorlands Radio – our broadcast area is home to Alton Towers, as well as thousands of square miles of stunning countryside, industry and commerce. One day you could be interviewing the Mayor about a new roundabout, the next taking a trip into the hills to cover a music festival held 1,200 feet up. We even recently sent one of our team
members up in a glider with the Moorlands Radio mic… but a head for heights is not strictly necessary!

It’s an ideal opportunity for a student of journalism, someone looking to take their first steps in radio or just someone who’s interested in local life in the area and wanting to make a difference. We’re well known for being the only station that really cares about local issues in the Moorlands – but to continue the levels of service that our listeners are used to, we need you.

Moorlands Radio is a not-for-profit independent community radio station, fully licensed by Ofcom. Travelling and other expenses incurred in your duties for the station will be reimbursed.
