Richard Park - Group Executive Director & Director of Broadcasting, Global Radio

Richard Park’s radio career began as a presenter on hospital radio in Scotland, since then he has become  one of the most influencial figureheads in radio. He was a presenter at Radio 1 and Talksport and has been one of the most successful contestants on 5 Lives Fighting Talk , as well as appearing on TV as a judge on Fame Academy.  Later on in his career he progressed to progamme controller at Capital FM and is now the  Group Executive Director & Director of Broadcasting for Global Radio, the Uk’s largest radio group.

Global Radio boasts the number 1, 2 and 3 commercial radio brands in the UK, with Heart, Classic FM and Galaxy respectively, they also help people break into radio with the Global Academy.

Richard Park found time at the recent Student Radio Awards to talk to the Pips where he spoke about the importance of the awards, what he thinks about the future talent in radio and his advice for people who wish to work in the field.
