The Pips – SRA Radio Training Days

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Our last trip to Glasgow was a huge success, big thank you to the SRA team and a merci beaucoup to Darryl Morris and John Isherwood for their weighty contributions. Well, The Pips is back on the road, this time down South. I’ll give you three clues to our final destination; Henry V famous warship HMS Grace Dieu was built there, Jane Austen lived there between 1806 – 1809 and Benny Hill was born there…. It’s SOUTHAMPTON!

The Student Radio Association is running radio training days across the country and they have asked The Pips to get involved. This Saturday the second run of workshops will be held at the Itchen Lecture theatre at Southampton Solent University.

The running order for the day:

10am Administration
11am Icebreaker
12 midday Interactive Demo . The do’s and don’ts – The Pips
1pm Lunch Break
1.45 Creative Content. The Pips
2.30 On Location Reporting – Neil Sackley (BBC Solent) (tbc)
3.30 Break
3.45 Student Radio to Capital FM – Christian Williams (Capital South Coast)
4:45 Production and Programming – Iain Meadows & Jim Edwards (Coast 105)
